Welcome Andrea Houren - my new assistant. Andrea's background is in nursing, but she also has a passion for baking and cake decorating. She has taken Wilton Cake Decorating classes and has made some beautiful cakes and cookies for her friends and family. She has recently started helping me and assisted me on my most recent project - a wedding cake (shown here) and some adorable wedding cookie favors. We made the cutest little flip flop cookies (photo below) and also sand dollar cookies (photo to come).
Thank you, Andrea, for all of your help! I'm looking forward to working on more fun projects in the very near future!

Colette Peters
In November, I was fortunate enough to take a Colette Peters cake decorating class at the Notter School of Pastry Arts in Orlando. It was a 4 day course which I thoroughly enjoyed and learned so much from this very talented lady who you might have seen on the food network or maybe you have seen one of her cake books. She has written 5 wonderful books with information on how to create some of her beautiful cake designs. For more information on Colette, go to www.colettescakes.com and view some of her beautiful work. She also posts her class schedule on her website.
